2012 EXCLUSIVE ACCOMODATION PACKAGE : BE THE LAIRD FOR A WEEK AT DALNAGAIRN HOUSE, PERTHSHIRE, SCOTLAND. Situated in one of the Perthshire glens between Pitlochry and Blairgowrie amid mature broadleaf trees, tumbling rivers and green fields, at the foot of moorland and hills, Dalnagairn, a Victorian lodge, was recently totally refurbished, but still retains its original, stylish character. Dalnagairn is a holiday house equally popular with families, adult groups, weddings and shooting parties, with a high number of return visitors. Within half an hour's drive you can find salmon & trout fishing, Skiing and snowboarding at Glenshee, white-water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, paint-balling, paragliding and golf. The local area is criss-crossed with numerous walks of varying lengths and challenge, including the famous Cateran Trail. Less active students of local culture may prefer a visit to Scotland's smallest whisky distillery, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, or one of the many local restaurants.Dalnagairn is a family-friendly house with a large games room equipped with ping-pong table, board games, Duplo and a dressing-up box, and a television room with Freeview TV, PlayStation and games, and a large selection of children's DVDs and videos. Outside is a climbing frame with swings, slide and sandpit, a trampoline, and a kickabout area with goals. The garden is great for hide-and-seek.There is plenty, too, for older children and adults: the games room becomes a dance room, the wooden floor ideal for Scottish reels, ceilidhs or contemporary music; there is a barbecue and garden furniture, croquet and badminton, trout fishing (free for guests), and a clay-pigeon trap.Dalnagairn has a secluded feel, but it is only five minutes from Kirkmichael village, within half an hour of the amenities of both Blairgowrie and Pitlochry, and less than an hour from Perth and Dundee. It is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, but also for those wanting to be within striking distance of adventurous activities and entertainment.
