A bit of fresh water angling news came in from the Kingfisher crew, apparently the Underberg area has seen some rainfall recently.

A bit of fresh water angling news came in from the Kingfisher crew, apparently the Underberg area has seen some rainfall recently. The dams and rivers are a bit fuller now and are fishing well. Most fish have fallen to Olive coloured fly patterns of various sizes.

Lots of tiger fish havebeen reported from Jozini with live baits and fillet baits producing the bites. The water temperature is around 22 degrees and most fish are coming out in the late afternoon.

As far as fishing for yellow fish goes, the rivers are full, fast flowing and dirty. When the water colour is right, black floating beetles are the number one lure. Albert falls has been producing some very nice carp in the 2-4kg range which are being caught throughout the day.

Miguel from Aquabud sent a message about their Christmas dive which saw all divers wearing Christmas hats and the Oceanworx dive masters in full Santa gear! The viz at Aliwal Shoal was a maximum of 10m with a water temperature of 23 degrees. They saw raggies, turtles and lots of yellow fin tuna on the surface.

Today sees a 1-2m swellrunning with more NE winds which blew throughout the night, we will have choppy sea conditions all day and temperatures peaking at around 30 degrees so we are in for another scorcher – have a great start to your week!
