SPRINGWATER FISHERY (Dalrymple): very quiet due to the weather. Names are still being taken for the Boxing Day fly competition, bookings to 01292 560343. Springwater is holding a bait competition on January 2.

Christmas vouchers are on sale at the fishery. Springwater will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): the fishery has been very quiet thanks to the weather.

Bait pond: S. Thompson from Drongan caught three fish weighing 7.3 lb, Mark Davis from Ayr caught three weighing 6.7 lb, John Scott from Prestwick caught two weighing 4.2 lb, A. McDonald from Troon caught two weighing 3.9 lb.

Fly pond: R. Brazier from Dreghorn caught and released eight fish using a bloodworm, Mr Watson from Dreghorn caught and released five using various dry flies, W. Hunter from Dreghorn caught and released five using a bloodworm, Mr Campbell from Dreghorn caught and released four using a yellow dancer, S. Wallace from Dreghorn caught and released two fish using a cruncher, D. Hughes from Ayr caught two fish weighing 6.2 lbs using a yellow blob.

BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): with the change of weather, the fishery will try keep the ponds open for as long as possible. For latest fishing conditions go to Burns page on Facebook or phone the pond on 07527 405715.

Fly pond: Ian Skilling eight fish for 20lb 7oz, Tam Boyle four for 11lb, J Hodge two for 5lb, P Hutchinson three for 8lb, H Leggit one for 2lb 4oz.

Bait pond: Kim from Mossblown three for 6lb 2oz, J Patterson six for 15lb, Mr Lothian two for 3lb 13oz
