Large-Scale Hatcheries Could Help Restore Fish Species

CHRIS YOUNG, director of the Stock Enhancement Research Facility at Port Manatee, says a network of intensive fish hatcheries could be the key to saving species in crisis — like snook after the massive January 2010 cold-weather kill. "That's kind of like the nirvana of stock enhancement, is that you could restore a population that got wiped out."
