Temperatures in most area lakes are in the mid 40s and 50s.
• Bedford. Largemouth bass bite is best in deeper water. Try secondary points for smallmouth bass.
• Caney Fork River. Heavy generation at the dam has hurt the trout bite.
• Center Hill. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are hitting jigs, spinner baits and spoons. Crappie bite is still good on minnows and jigs.
• Cheatham. Largemouth bass bite is best in the middle to latter part of the day on crank and spinner baits. Crappie bite is best in 10-15 feet of water on minnows.
• Cordell Hull. Largemouth bass are striking crank baits and jigs in 5-15 feet of water. Some are being caught on slow moving spinners. Try primary and secondary points for smallmouth bass on crank baits and jigs. Crappie bite is improving.
• Dale Hollow. Largemouth bass are being caught while jigging and on soft plastics. Smallmouth bass bite is best on jigs. Crappie bite is good in the creeks and mouths of creeks.
• Duck River. Trout bite is slow because of the heavy rains.
• Elk River. Trout bite is best on flies and corn, but the generation has made the river unfishable most days.
• Kentucky. Look for largemouth bass chasing bait fish in the channels and the lake’s main points. Crappie bite is slow.
• Old Hickory. Crappie, bass, catfish and rockfish bite is picking up near the Gallatin Steam Plant. Rockfish also are being caught near the dam. Crappie bite is also decent at several other spots across the lake in deep water. Bluegill and bream are being caught from the banks on red wigglers and crickets.
• Percy Priest. Largemouth and smallmouth bass bite is steady and improving. Look for schools of shad. Crappie bite is best on jigs in 5-10 feet of water. Catfish bite below the dam is very good.
• Tims Ford. Smallmouth bass bite is best on jigs. Crappie bite is still good over brush on minnows.
