So heres another fishing report for the local area. Went out to Izors to fish up some Sand Bass.Smooooooooooth Ocean, 57 degree water, no wind, small small swell, went to our usual spot to start, tried for about a a hour using double droppers and sliding sinkers and we got NADA, not even a bite, so we decided to move to another area, but oh ohhhh, it happened again! ANOTHER anchor gets stuck on the bottom, after trying for an hour, out comes the new fancy orange handled knife and cut goes the rope. If you are a diver and are reading this, please contact me so we can discuss you retrieving it for me, its in about 95' of water and marked on my GPS!So not wanting to get a skunk, we cruised over to the 150 spot, you can always find at least sand dabs there!, so we drop line and the first pull happens in about 10 mins and its a small sculpin to boot, but looking for some good fishing karma back in it goes. Now for the next 2 hours we are getting bit pretty regularly with the Sand dabs! We caught big un's, we caught small ones, some got away some were let go, and some went to the pelicans, we kept about 15 good size ones, and were happy that we get to eat fresh fish tonight!
On the way back the Ocean was ever smoother than on the way in, we cruised along at 28 kts no problem and with no chop! Which in my boat is FANTASTIC!
Lemons turned to Lemonade, or in this case a Sand Dab fish fry!
